Yes, it’s spy mode recording!

Because of the CPU overhead, iPhone Video Recorder encodes at the end of a recording session, and the encoding can be paused anytime and then resumed when you are convenient. It is possible to record on-the-fly, the sound is good, yet the frame rate will suffer.

System Requirements

Requirements:
You need a jailbroken iPhone with firmware 2.X (instructions can be found in a lot forums in the net)
You need a SSH server running on it. The most common is openSSH and it can be found on Cydia.
